Tom May The Latest Legend To Confirm
Newcastle Falcons can confirm that Tom May has become the latest former player to be confirmed for the club’s Legends game later this year.
May, a long-time fan favourite in the North East made over 250 appearances for the club between 1999 and 2009 including the 2004 Powergen Cup Final and the 2001 Tetley’s Bitter Cup Final, in which he scored two tries to help the Falcons lift the trophy.
Having crossed the Channel in 2009 to sign for Toulon May moved back to the UK to play for first Northampton Saints and later London Welsh, the team he captained to last season’s Championship title.
Earlier this season May announced his plans to retire from the professional game at the end of this season, but the club is thrilled to confirm that fans will be able to watch him in action on the Kingston Park pitch one more time when he turns out for the Falcons Legends this October.
Part of the club’s plans to celebrate the arrival of the 2015 Rugby World Cup into Newcastle, the Legends game will see a team of Falcons Legends take on a Southern Hemisphere XV at Kingston Park Stadium on Friday 2nd October.
May joins a team of Legends which already includes Hugh Vyvyan, Marius Hurter, Epi Taione, Michael Stephenson, Carlo Del Fava and Gary Armstrong, with many other names still to be announced.
Tickets for the game are available to order now [online][1], in person from the Kingston Park Box Office or by calling the club’s 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060, starting from £10 for adults and £5 for juniors.
