Train like a pro camp a great success

Last Saturday Kingston Park played host to the Falcons Community Foundation’s first ever Train Like a Pro camp.

The day was a huge success, with over 80 participants coming along to enjoy a series of workshops including time on the main pitch, strength and conditioning gym sessions, video analysis in the team room and forwards and backs specific training on the West pitch of Kingston Park.

All participants also received a Gilbert rugby branded waterproof top unique to the camp, as well as a Falcons cap, food voucher and tickets for the club’s game against Saracens later on the same day.

Simon Hammersley, Zach Kibirige, Jamie Helleur and Lee Smith were all on hand to help out with the sessions and lend a hand to Falcons Community Foundation coaches, while the Falcons Academy Strength and Conditioning team also got involved with the gym-based element of the day.

Participants were then invited to play on the Kingston Park main pitch at half time during the Falcons game in touch rugby groupings.

Overall the day was a great success with fantastic feedback from many parents, including Ben Bourne who said: “It was an awesome day at Kingston Park. Train like a pro was a massive hit … and the abundance of rugby that followed made for a great day at the club!”

The Community Foundation’s next coaching camps will take place during February half term. For more information or to book a place on any of the Falcons’ future coaching camps click [here][1].
