Twickenham beckons through Land Rover Cup

The Falcons Community Foundation will run one of their busiest match day activities of the year this Sunday when Kingston Park hosts the 2015 Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, a nationwide tournament for under 11 and under 12 teams.

The ground-breaking tournament is now into its seventh year and was the first of its kind to be officiated by Premiership Rugby and run in conjunction with all twelve Premiership Rugby clubs.

Sunday’s offering at Kingston Park welcomes 60 teams and over 1000 players to the main pitch and surrounding training surfaces and allows the young rugby players taking park will play in a series of matches against clubs from their local area.

Receiving tips from members of the Falcons playing squad, the triumphant teams from Sunday’s event will represent the Falcons alongside winners from the eleven other Premiership Rugby clubs at the Parade of Champions at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final in May.

Among the professional players from the Falcons on hand to provide coaching tips, newly signed senior academy member Callum Chick, who caught the eye of Falcons Acdemey managers while himself playing in two Land Rover Cup tournaments for Ponteland RFC.

In addition to the tournament, Land Rover are also inviting owners to join them in their pre-match hospitality area at Kingston Park, ahead of Newcastle Falcons home match against Leicester Tigers.

The unique hospitality area will be open to Land Rover owners from 13:00 with customers simply having to present their key fob to Land Rover staff to gain access to the area, where they will be served with a free gourmet burger.

In addition to the hospitality area for vehicle owners, everyone attending the game will get a chance to see the latest addition to Land Rover’s range of vehicles; the new Discovery Sport and be able to enter a competition, with the chance of winning the exclusive prize of using Land Rovers hospitality box at Twickenham for the 2014/15 Premiership Rugby Final.
