U18s make finals day after 64-7 rout of Northampton
The emphatic victory was enough to book them a place at this Sunday’s finals day in Worcester, where they will face Bristol Bears in the third-place play-off at 2pm.
It is the first time in the Premiership Under-18s League’s six-year history that the Falcons have made it through to finals day.
At the end of the round-robin stage the Falcons finished third in the Northern Conference, agonisingly missing out on second place due to Worcester Warriors scoring one more try over the course of the entire season.
Newcastle won four of their six matches, averaging almost five tries a game.
