VACANCY: Falcons Community Foundation development officer

Reporting to the head of community, the purpose of the role is to engage, enhance and develop rugby within the community, predominantly providing both coaching, education and club development support.

**Key responsibilities:**

* Deliver various programmes and festivals to primary schools, secondary schools, rugby clubs and community groups within the North East.

* Organise, promote and deliver coaching camps during school holidays.

* Organise, promote and deliver a CPD programme for coaches, teachers and volunteers.

* Promote the Falcons Club & School Connections programme.

* Promote Newcastle Falcons, ensuring the rugby community are kept up to date with activities (Club/school Connections Programme).

* Liaise with the RFU Rugby Development Team to deliver a wide range of high quality activities to diverse groups of people, meeting multiple objectives.

* Develop partnerships with key organisations to ensure longevity of the post.

* Complete monitoring and evaluation on the programmes on the appropriate system.

* Assist Funding & Development Manager in preparing and submitting reports & funding applications.

* Plan and deliver match day activity at Newcastle Falcons home games.

**Key performance indicators:**

* Achieving various Newcastle Rugby Foundation targets as measured by Views M&E system.

* Number of players and coaches engaging in a variety of programmes against targets.

* Increased engagement of schools and clubs with Newcastle Falcons.

* Feedback on quality of experience from stakeholders.

**The successful candidate must have:**

* RFU Level 2 Coaching Award.

* Experience of coaching rugby to a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and ability levels.

* Experience of working in a dynamic team environment.

* Knowledge of representative rugby structures.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Strong promotional skills and the ability to manage own workload.

* Ability to create and maintain strong working links and relationships.

* Ability to work to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

* Ability to work as part of a team and meet organisational demands.

* Self motivated, organised, enthusiastic and honest personal attributes.

* Ability to make decisions and use own initiative.

* Current UK Driving licence.

* Access to a car.

**Salary:** £18k to £20k, dependent on experience.
