VANTEC FESTIVAL CELEBRATES LOCAL RUGBY AT KINGSTON PARK

Wednesday 13 November 2013 Written by: Adam

The festival was a culmination of five weeks of coaching in schools throughout the Sunderland area.

The coaching took place in Holly Park Primary, Grange Park, Mill Hill, John F. Kennedy Primary, George Washington, Fatfield, Highfield, Thorney Close, and Redby Primary.
The programme was as follows:

1 x hour of tag rugby x 5 weeks
1 x falcons player visit
1 x mascot visit
1 x teacher resource pack left in each school for the continued delivery of tag rugby
1 x teacher education day to ensure delivery continues in schools
Balls and tags left in the school
1 x tag festival at local club to ensure transition into regular activity

As well as the celebration festival here at Kingston Park.

The games were played from 11am until 2pm where the winners were brought onto the main pitch for the final at half time.
Representatives from Vantec Europe were on hand to present a trophy and have photos taken with Falcons Player Adam Powell. Without Vantec’s fantastic support programmes like this would not be possible, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all involved from their company.

If you would like to become involved in sponsoring community programmes at the falcons, please contact melanie.magee@newcastle-falcons.co.uk

We hope that all involved enjoyed their day.
