Belisario Agulla says the next two weeks of Anglo-Welsh Cup action are important to him and his team-mates, as the club looks to build momentum ahead of the resumption of Aviva Premiership Rugby action on February 10.

Taking on Newport this weekend at Rodney Parade, where the Falcons tasted victory on their last visit, with an exhilarating 26-30 win in the European Rugby Challenge Cup, Agulla says the focus from the team has been firmly ahead.

Speaking to Falcons TV the Argentine centre said: “We know we have to do a good game at the weekend as we have come from two defeats, but we are working really hard and have been focusing on what is ahead in Newport away and in trying to bring the win.

“We have two games ahead that we have to use to bring back confidence and bring the rugby back that has been doing really well in the league.”

Having formed a potent centre pairing with countryman Juan Pablo Socino in recent weeks, Agulla has been showing fine form since returning from injury and is happy to be getting back to his best.

He added: “I’m really happy, its hard off the pitch for a few months, but I have worked hard and have been able to have a few games in a row to win back some confidence.”
