Aviva Premiership rugby club Newcastle Falcons today announced the planned opening of its new high-end dining experience in association with national food service wholesale distributors 3663 and renowned chef David Kennedy.
The new restaurant will open on 27 October for the important Aviva Premiership clash versus London Irish at the Falcons’ Kingston Park ground offering a superior experience to diners who will then be invited out to watch a game of top-level rugby live from exclusive seats in the Falcons’ West Stand.
A four course gourmet feast will be created by former North East chef of the year David Kennedy before every match to be played at Kingston Park.
David, who is best known for his NE2 Food Social at the Biscuit Factory and the River Café at North Shields worked for a number of Michelin, starred London restaurants before moving north to join Terry Laybourne at 21 Queen Street. Since moving North, David has become one of the region’s most well-respected chefs, winning the coveted North East chef of the year title in 2008.
The opening of this exclusive restaurant marks the next phase of the Falcons’ partnership with 3663, which has gone from strength to strength over recent years.
Falcons conference and events director Jane Shepstone said: “We are incredibly excited about the opening of this restaurant, which is the next stage in both our relationship with 3663 and our endeavors to make Kingston Park the best sporting hospitality venue in the region.
“We are also thrilled to welcome, in David, one of the region’s top chefs and look forward to sharing his talents with our diners in the 3663 restaurant throughout the course of this season and beyond.”
