Falcons U18s host Scotland U18s on Sunday
Newcastle Falcons Under-18s are at home against Scotland Under-18s this Sunday, with free entry for all supporters.
Kick-off at Kingston Park is at 1pm, with the East Stand Tap & Tackle bar open for drinks and refreshments.
The match brings to a close the Falcons’ Under-18s season, with academy coach Jack Hayes explaining: “For the last few years we’ve hosted Scotland here, sometimes in conjunction with Sale Sharks and Yorkshire, making a bit of a combined team.
“Last year we did it as an Under-17s exercise, but this year we’ve engaged the Under-18s.
“Scotland are bringing 36 players down in preparation for their Six Nations campaign, and they’ll be a good standard.
“Playing against any international team is obviously a massive test but it will be great for the lads, and as well as the guys who have played in our Under-18s league season we’ll be blooding in some of our 17s.
“That will help prepare them for next season’s Under-18s programme, and then for the rest of our guys it will be a great way for them to sign off as Falcons Under-18s players.”
Encouraging supporters to come along and enjoy watching some of the stars of the future, Hayes added: “I’d expect a quick game with plenty of ball movement, and anyone coming along should see a good game.
“There are some really talented players on show for both teams, and hopefully we’ll get plenty of people coming along to watch.”
