Tait tipping tough game on Sunday

Former Falcons favourite Mathew Tait lines up for Leicester Tigers this weekend, in what could potentially be his final match played at Kingston Park as he gears up for a move to France’s Top 14 with Bayonne next summer.

Taking the time to conduct an interview for this weekend’s pre match programme, in which he reflects on his 11 season in the Aviva Premiership, the 29 year old also looked ahead to Sundays game where both teams will be hunting for an Aviva Premiership win.

Tait said: “I think we are in a good position but we have a huge task this weekend coming up to Kingston Park. Hopefully we’ll have a few of the guys back from 6 Nations duty, who maybe are in need of some game time to strengthen out squad a little, bit but it is going to be a tough ask.”

“Historically I know teams didn’t like coming because it would be blowing a gale or raining and the pitch was boggy, but this year it is all change with the artificial surface, the players up there and Dave [Walder] on the staff. The club is playing well and we know it is going to be a really tough game and no one down here is underestimating Newcastle by any stretch of the imagination.”

To read the full interview with Mathew, be sure to get your copy of the official match day programme from sellers around the ground.

Tickets for Sunday’s game are still on sale but are selling quickly and supporters wishing to attend are being encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.
