Scrum Half Micky Young is a man happy to return home following his summer switch from Bath back to the North East and plans on using his experiences at the Rec and at Leicester Tigers to further the Falcons cause.

The 26 year old returns to a Falcons shirt following two seasons with the West Country side and two at Welford Road and believes fans will see a player far removed and improved from the one that made an impact at Kingston Park from 2008 – 2011.

“I’m really pleased to be home, I’ve missed the place so to be able to come back and be part of the squad, it’s been really special. It’s good to see everybody and get back into the mix of things. It’s been awesome so far.”

When asked how he feels he differs from his younger self, Young added: ““Bit older I think! And I’d like to think a bit wiser as well! The experience I had at Leicester and Bath, with the players there and the facilities have really helped my development. I feel privileged to have been part of those clubs and to be able to bring experience back to Newcastle”.
