MATCH REPORT | Wed, October 18

For the first time ever the Boys Premiership, Boys Development and Girls team were all in action playing on the same day, and even better they all kicked off at the same time at Kingston Park Stadium.

With the Premiership team winning 37-5 against Bede, making it three wins from three, the development team winning 45-10 against East Durham College and the Girl’s team who joined forces with Bede coming away with the biggest win with 49-14 against the joint team of QE Hexham, and Hartlepool Sixth Form.

Head coach Niall Johal said: “Yesterday we made history with all three teams being victorious on one day. Our AoC Prem team managed to beat a good Bede team, our Boys Development beat East Durham College while our Girls Team were victorious against a combined Hartlepool & QE Hexham team!

“It was a great way for all three teams to end the half term getting their just reward for all the hard work they’ve put in through training and their personal development!”

Girls coach and community development officer, Zoe Hornby said: “The girls played some amazing rugby with a lot of positives to take from today. Credit to the girls for the hard work throughout the game, they showed the desire they have from start to finish which reflected in the result!”

If you want to be part of our programme next season, come, and get a taste of what we offer on Wednesday, November 1 from 2pm-6 pm at Kingston Park for our Tynemet Rugby Excellence Open Event.

There will be a talk about the course and where it can lead you, but will also include a training and gym session in the same facilities where Newcastle Falcons train.
