Prop-forward Adam Brocklebank has pledged his future to Newcastle Falcons by signing a new three-year deal.

The 28-year-old has played 120 games for the Kingston Park club since graduating from Durham University, with the Ormskirk native delighted to have committed to the Gallagher Premiership’s northernmost team.

“I’ve been at the club for nine years now and I’m buzzing to have signed this contract,” said Brocklebank.

“I love the environment at the Falcons, I love the city and I just feel like the club is going in a really exciting direction now. There are big changes, and this is going to be a place to be.”

Elaborating on his rugby journey, the loose-head added: “I first came here as a fresher at university, and this is where I’ve grown up as a rugby player.

“My fiancée Paige is from the North East, we’ve recently had a baby boy, called Benny after my grandad, and this is a special place for me.

“I’m just really excited for these next three years – hopefully many more years after that – and I want to help drive the club forward.

“There’s a new buzz around Newcastle Falcons, and with my family and rugby life both in a great place at the moment I’m just looking forward to a really positive future on and off the field.”

Newcastle forwards coach Micky Ward – the Falcons’ all-time appearance record holder and a former prop himself – said: “I’m over the moon that Brockers has re-signed.

“He’s been here a lot of years now and is an outstanding athlete who has built up a lot of Premiership experience.

“His set-piece work is top drawer, and it’s great he feels so strongly that this is a club where he can advance his career.

“Things are moving on here, and hopefully people can see that the club’s developing in the right way. He’s committed his long-term future here, and I’d like to think that over the next couple of months there’ll be a few more lads doing the same.

“It’s all just helping build a good atmosphere around the club, and as a forwards coach I’m really pleased to be working with guys like Brockers.”

Newcastle Falcons’ next home game is against Leicester Tigers on Good Friday (March 29), with tickets on sale for the 7.45pm kick-off by clicking here.
