CORNISH PIRATES MATCH UPDATE
As part of our efforts to enable Friday’s game against Cornish Pirates to go ahead, the Falcons are inviting supporters to come along to Kingston Park tomorrow to help clear the pitch.
Supporters are invited to arrive at our West Stand with their snow shovels and/or wheelbarrows from 8.30am tomorrow (Tuesday) for tea coffee and bacon sandwiches before heading out onto the pitch at 9am to start clearing snow.
Chief executive Paul Varley said: “We are doing everything in our power to get Friday’s game to go ahead as planned, and we would be most grateful if supporters are able to lend a hand tomorrow.
“The safety of our supporters on a match day is of paramount importance, and it is vital that we make safe the stands and other areas in and around the ground.”
Food and hot drinks will be supplied to volunteers throughout the day, including lunch at midday, so please email ceryn.rowntree@newcastle-falcons.co.uk and let us know if you will be coming along so we can make sure there are enough refreshments to go around!
The club advises fans who wish to come and help us to take particular care in getting to Kingston Park given the hazardous driving conditions, and only make the journey if they are comfortable to do so.
Although food and hot drinks will be provided, please remember to wrap up warm and wear extra layers of waterproof, outdoor clothing for what looks set to be a very cold day!
