Deano: Premiership return already in our sights
Richards said: “Relegation is obviously a blow but we have a huge amount of talent within our squad, and guys really pushing their claim.
“The boys who came in didn’t look out of place at all, they deserved to be there and we will bounce back stronger from this now.
“We have an A-Team semi-final on Monday and the home game against Bristol on the 18th, then everything is geared towards coming back into the Premiership at the first time of asking.”
Throwing absolutely everything at Gloucester but being undone by an interception try, Richards said: “It’s probably the story of our season, to be honest with you.
“The boys put their heart and soul into it, but a lack of accuracy at times cost us.
“We left two or three tries out there but Gloucester are a good team, and we always knew we were going to be up against it. They’ve got a play-maker at ten who’s not a bad player, they’re a good side but I thought on the day we did incredibly well.
“Our first try was absolutely outstanding, Sinoti scored a nice one and some of the younger guys like Jamie Blamire came on for their debuts and played really well.
“There were some great performances. I thought George McGuigan was outstanding, as was Gary Graham, but as I say, that little bit of accuracy cost us dear.
“The interception try was obviously a huge blow but we were having to push the game by that stage, and it’s just one of those things. We will bounce back from this.”
