Falcons Academy Scale New Heights

Friday 05 June 2015 Written by: Adam

This weekend will see a team of Falcons Academy staff, volunteers and members of the club’s commercial team undertake a gruelling challenge as they climb three mountains in 24 hours to raise funds for charity.

Starting on Friday evening the club will scale the highest of the three peaks, 1,344m high Ben Nevis in Scotland before driving overnight to England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike in the Lake District. Once the second part of the challenge is over it will be down to Wales to climb the third and final peak, Snowdon.

The team of hardy fundraisers, including Academy Manager Mark Laycock and Head Coach James Ponton, will be supported by a group of drivers as they look to raise funds for Comic Relief and the Falcons Academy tour fund.

The group are now almost half way to their fundraising target of £800 with any further donations welcome via the online fundraising page [here][1].

The team have also received a great deal of support from the business world, and would like to thank Weetabix for their generously provided tshirts and nutritional supplements and Berghaus for their gift of kit to be used during the challenge.
