The 21-year-old, who has been plying his trade for National League One side Tynedale this term, is delighted to have signed on the dotted line.

“I am really looking forward to the challenge of playing for Newcastle Falcons,” said the former England under-18s and under-20s player.

“It will obviously be a big step up from playing National League One rugby, and I cannot wait to get out onto the pitch and show that I am good enough to play at this level,” he added.

Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards is pleased with his new addition, saying: “I have watched him a number of times for Tynedale and I have been very impressed with him.

> We have given him a fantastic opportunity here and it will be
> interesting to see how he fairs at this level.

“He is a good ball carrier, a good footballer and he understands the game.”

Meanwhile, the Falcons’ RFU Championship game against Leeds Carnegie scheduled to be played at Headingly Carnegie on Sunday 10 February has been switched to Otley RUFC (kick-off 12pm).
