Falcons confirm Brookes departure at season end
Newcastle Falcons can confirm that prop Kieran Brookes will leave Kingston Park at the end of the season to join Northampton Saints.
24 year old Brookes returned to Newcastle following a difficult two year period at Leicester Tigers and played a part in the club’s successful RFU Championship play-off campaign before joining the squad permanently for the Falcons Aviva Premiership return.
During that time, Brookes has made a total of 23 Aviva Premiership appearances and has also earned six England caps.
Falcons Director of Rugby, Dean Richards said: “We’re obviously disappointed to see Kieran head to Northampton, as we would have liked him to stay here, at the club that has helped him to develop into the full England international that he is today. Attempts were made to retain Kieran over a 10 month period but during the course of the negotiations it became clear that he and his agent were looking to move.”
Brookes will see out the remainder of the season at Kingston Park and the Newcastle Falcons will wish him well when he moves on to his new club.
