Falcons fans blitz social media
Over the last few days Newcastle Falcons fans have joined staff, players and partners in busily tweeting and sharing the club’s poster for this Sunday’s game against Northampton Saints for their chance to win great club prizes.
With the poster being shared repeatedly on Facebook and tweeted hundreds of times, including RT’s from organisations such as Premiership Rugby and NewcastleGateshead Initiative and personalities such as former Falcon Jamie Noon, the Social Media Blitz helped drum up all important support for the Falcons in the build up to their match against the reigning Aviva Premiership champions.
Falcons Sales and Marketing Director Keith Christie said: “We’re very grateful to our fans for the efforts they’ve put into helping us promote the match through our Social Media Blitz.
“We’ve had to tweak the prizes slightly as no one managed to beat my top celebrity RT’s from Jamie Noon and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, but we will be running the Blitz throughout the season and I look forward to seeing how many celebrity tweeters our fans can help us get onside next time around!
“Sunday’s game against Northampton Saints is a big one for the team and not only do we look forward to welcoming out competition winners to the group, but we’re hoping to see a big crowd at the stadium to help cheer the Falcons on!”
The Facebook winner of Newcastle Falcons’ inaugural Social Media Blitz competition is Garry Henderson, while winners over on Twitter are Robin Taylor and Ellis Powell.
All three receive a pair of tickets to tomorrow’s game complete with players’ bar passes for after the match. They will also have their photographs taken with Falcons players which will then be signed and sent onto them.
