RFU, Falcons Community & RPA worked together to provide this opportunity for players to have this course delivered at the club.

Melanie Magee ,Director Falcons Community Foundation, says ““I’m delighted to see so many of our players on the course. Our players are fantastic role models in the community and put in countless hours to help our local clubs and schools. To go on and achieve their Level 2 qualification is testament to their dedication to developing community rugby in the region.”

Alan Moses, RFU Training Manager said of the course “The session delivered with the players was an introduction to coaching process combined with the IRB Rugby Ready and the RFU Scrum Factory. These elements are essential in moving the player towards becoming a coach and part of the RFU requirements. The players all mucked in, with a variety of injuries, and engaged in the sessions fully. The end result being they all coached a short session based around safety. We even had the backs scrummaging to the new engagement sequence. Crouch-Bind-Set. The players will now go away and practice their coaching before booking onto a level 2 course in the near future. ”

We hope that this leads them to a very successful coaching qualification.
