Falcons stars spread festive cheer
A total of 16 players visited 12 children’s wards at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary and the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital.
Handing out presents and chocolates donated by Blackett Walker Independent Financial Advisers, the players spent the day chatting to the inspirational children and their families.
Melanie Magee, community and marketing manager of Newcastle Falcons, said: “Christmas is an extremely tough time for children and their families when they are in hospital but the players enjoyed meeting them and hearing so many incredible stories.
“Hospital visits around this time of year are in important part of our calendar, the players enjoy meeting the children, families and medical staff and it’s a real inspiration for us to be part of it.
“Everyone in every single hospital has shown so much goodwill and appreciation towards the club, and it is the absolute least we can do when you hear about some of the battles they are going through with such courage and determination.”
