Falcons want fans to ‘Bring the Noise’
Newcastle Falcons have urged supporters attending the next home Aviva Premiership Rugby game versus Gloucester to show that they are the most passionate fans in club rugby. The club want supporters to set a record for the loudest crowd at a game of club rugby at the fixture on Friday 21st November.
The club today launched their ‘Bring the Noise’ campaign with first team players Mark Wilson and Rob Hawkins fronting the creative for the game. A number of ticketing initiatives with current season ticket holders, students, community connections clubs and local businesses will aim to attract the biggest crowd since the Falcons returned to the Aviva Premiership.
Speaking about the ‘Bring the Noise’ campaign Head of Marketing & Community Melanie Magee commented: “At the last Aviva Premiership game versus Exeter Chiefs the players commented on the incredible noise coming from the stands at the full time whistle. We are going to take that to a whole new level against Gloucester and set a record noise level against Gloucester. The more fans we get in the louder it will be. The players have told us how the level of support lifts them during games so we are going to do our bit by packing the stands.
We will be announcing over the next week a number of ticket pushes to get the attendance to a level not seen for a while at Kingston Park. Central to that will be our current season ticket holders who can all play a part by bringing their work colleagues, neighbours, friends and family.
As for the night itself the team will be hoping to give plenty of reasons for the supporters to cheers and shout. We will also be using the Big Screen and tannoy at key points on the evening to encourage the fans to be as loud as possible and bring the noise”
The club will be working with Newcastle City Council and officials from Aviva Premiership Rugby to verify the noise levels via use of decibel readers. The current Guinness World Record for a sports stadium is held by the Kansas City Chiefs who set a level of 141 decibels at their Arrowhead Stadium. There is no known record for a game of club rugby and the Falcons will look to set a level for other clubs to challenge.
