Hard graft in stunning surroundings

The squad were put through a punishing session on the soft sand of Druridge Bay as they continue to lay the foundations for the 2018-19 season.

Running up ‘Killer Hill’ and engaging in all manner of energy-sapping activity, the outing concluded the squad’s third week of training ahead of the start of the Gallagher Premiership at home to Saracens on September 2.

Director of rugby Dean Richards said: “We are blessed in this area to have such stunning scenery, and we’d be foolish not to use it during our pre-season programme.

“It keeps the lads mentally fresh to mix up our training locations, even if the sessions themselves are incredibly hard work.”
