The Kingston Park conference and events team hosted another successful Gourmet Evening on June 17th, as the team showcased their award winning skills to diners at the stadium.

Having been named operations team of the year at the 2016 Stadium Experience Events and Hospitality awards, the event saw head chef Alan Minto and his kitchen brigade serve a delicious five course meal accompanied by a selection of fine wines.

Starting with Scallop Escabeche with Cauliflower, the chef’s main course made use of fine Northumbrian lamb, with chargrilled neck accompanied by Fondant Potato filled with Aubergine & Smoked Garlic Puree, Pressed Confit Lamb Leg, young market vegetables, seared lambs liver and a rich veal jus.

A selection of artisan cheeses followed, before summer puddings, coffees and petit fours completed the meal.

Hosted in the West Stand, Gourmet Nights have become a regular feature of the events calendar at Kingston Park Stadium, with the fine dining experience establishing an excellent reputation since it premiered in 2013.

Head Chef Alan Minto said: “These evenings really allow both I and the rest of the team to showcase the best we have to offer both in terms of food and service & I hope it provides a lasting memory for all guests.

“When putting the menu together for these events I try to push both myself and the team to exceed guest’s expectations and I believe these events show just why we recently achieved success at the recent stadium experience awards.

“I also have to extend many thanks to Bidvest Foodservice for their continued support of the gourmet nights here at Kingston Park & to Newcastle Wine School for the wine introductions.
