NEWCASTLE V SALE TEAM NEWS

The Samoan international winger, 28, jetted into Newcastle last weekend and joined up with his new teammates on Monday morning ahead of tomorrow’s contest.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the table gained from his time in the Top 14 and Heineken Cup, Sinoti adds firepower to Newcastle Falcons’ backline.

Sinoti’s timely inclusion is one of six changes to the side that took on London Wasps last weekend with Mike Blair, Danny Barnes and Adam Powell named in a much changed backline.

Blair returns at scrum-half in place of Chris Pilgrim, while Barnes and Powell form a new centre partnership.

Meanwhile Dean Richards has rotated his pack with lineout specialist Scott MacLeod getting the nod in the starting XV for the first time since his outing against London Irish in the LV= Cup in November.

Andy Saull rounds off the changes replacing skipper Will Welch in the back-row with Ally Hogg captaining the Falcons in Welch’s absence.

Newcastle will be aiming to do the double over Sale after narrowly defeating the Greater Manchester club 15-14 at the AJ Bell Stadium earlier this campaign.

“Sale are a very good side and they thoroughly deserve to be where they are in the table,” said Richards, who expects another tough test under the lights at Kingston Park.

“They have some quality individuals in their ranks that can influence games so we will have to on top of our game if we are to get the result that we want,” he added.

The northeasterners snatched a losing bonus point when they hosted Wasps last Friday, a feat that was no small part down to the raucous Kingston Park contingent.

“It really makes a difference when you have strong backing from the crowd, and they most certainly drove the lads on in the second-half last week.

“It’s going to be a great atmosphere once again and I’m really looking to the challenge,” said Richards.
