Ben joined the Falcons’ senior academy in the summer of 2022, by which time he had already made his first-team debut for the club.
The son of former Newcastle Gosforth scrum-half Steve Douglas, Ben made his first-team bow at Northampton in March 2022, having already been capped by England Under-18s.
Ben has played for Gosforth Academy, Northern FC and Northumberland county. The 2022-23 season saw him playing twice for the Falcons, as well as scoring a pair of tries for England Under-19s against Wales Under-19s.
In 2023-24 Ben made four senior appearances, scoring his first try for the Falcons in the Premiership Rugby Cup win over Caldy and making his Gallagher Premiership debut away to Exeter.
He was also a member of the England Under-20s squad which won the 2024 Junior Six Nations, featuring in the decisive game away against France.
