Radwan claims Anglo-Welsh Breakthrough spot
Launched in 2012, the Breakthrough Player Award celebrates and recognises under-23 players who have stood out in the tournament, with previous winners including the likes of Jack Nowell, Jonny May and Tom Collins.
Joined by Saracens’ Ben Earl, 19-year-old Radwan will come into the frame for the overall season award once the 10-man shortlist is complete after the semi-final stage.
Using Opta statistics, a forward and a back from each round will be selected, with the season award being decided by a fans’ vote.
Radwan’s round-one contribution saw the Teessider scoring a try in each half, including a stunning solo effort on a day when his seven carries yielded a combined 150 metres, including three clean breaks.
Newcastle Falcons are next in action on Saturday when they host Cardiff Blues in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. Kick-off is at 5pm, with the England v Argentina game on TV in the Tap & Tackle at 3pm. To buy tickets [**click here**][1] or call 0871 226 6060.
