Rugby Excellence students follow Falcons to Sale
The Tyne Met players had an early start travelling down to Manchester and, on arrival, stretched their legs with a high-energy training session at Carrington. This was followed by a team-building afternoon visiting the Trafford Centre and a competitive game of ten-pin bowling, prior to heading to the AJ Bell Stadium to watch the Premiership Rugby Cup fixture.
Many of our Tyne Met students volunteer as Newcastle Falcons ball boys, and for this away game the squad formed a vocal away support system for the Falcons, with a full 80 minutes of singing.
The trip was a great opportunity for our students to train at an alternative venue and experience an away match day. The main focus was team building, with players getting to know each other outside a rugby college environment.
This experience was building on previous trips to the Army, crossfit gym and local universities, to ensure our student players get a rounded experience on the programme.
