Socino enjoys scoring debut

The Argentinean hooker crossed for a late try in the left corner during Saturday’s 29-18 Anglo-Welsh Cup loss at Saracens, having put himself at the back of a driving maul.

Socino said: “It was an honour and a great experience to make my debut for the club.

“From the moment I got named in the match-day squad I felt really good, I was excited about the opportunity and determined to just make the most out of it.

“I enjoyed everything around the game – the trip, the build-up in the hotel and the atmosphere on match-day. It was a big challenge to step into that, and now it’s a case of onwards and upwards.”

Grounding what in the end turned out to be a consolation score in a game the Falcons had led early into the second half, the former Hull Ionians man said: “It’s always nice to score a try, but the result is the main thing.

“It wasn’t ideal in that sense, but getting on for my debut and scoring a try was still an experience that will stick with me.

“We had a really young team out but still managed the game pretty well for probably 50 to 55 minutes. Saracens were ruthless and took advantage of the areas which they could. They converted the opportunities they had, and from there it was hard for us to chase.”

Newcastle Falcons are next in action on Friday night when Exeter Chiefs visit Kingston Park Stadium. Tickets for the 8pm Aviva Premiership kick-off are available by calling 0871 226 6060 or [**clicking here**.][1]
