Kingston Park Stadium’s South Stand is set to be packed to the rafters for the return of Aviva Premiership Rugby a week on Sunday, with fewer than 500 tickets remaining available there for the February 19 visit of Northampton Saints.

Renowned for its vocal support of the team, tickets for the stand behind the posts are expected to sell out in advance of match day as they did for the same fixture in 2016, as crowds at the league’s most northerly ground continue to show a healthy increase.

Over 5,500 tickets have now been issued for the game, which will see the Falcons Community Foundation host this year’s Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup pre-match.

With over 1,000 participants attending from 55 clubs, the youngsters aiming to emulate the career path of Falcons number eight Callum Chick will be part of a crowd hoping to witness a third straight Aviva Premiership win over Jim Mallinder’s side.

Tickets are also selling quickly for the East and West stands for the match, with supporters being urged to pre-book their tickets, with advanced ticket prices starting from £15 and seats starting from £25.

Head of marketing Melanie Magee said: “It’s fantastic news that the South Stand, officially the loudest stand in club rugby, is looking likely to be sold out prior to the game. The players really do get a lift from a full and noisy stadium, and I’m sure everyone attending the game against Northampton will play their part.”
