Tackling Numbers with MBNA is a project which uses rugby as a vehicle to improve children’s numeracy skills. It involves working in schools with year four children linking rugby scoring systems to mental math tasks. The children then play a schools festival tournament where Shanklea and Hollywell primary schools came out on top.

During the Connacht match on Saturday 12th January, Shanklea played Hollywell in an exciting MBNA tag rugby final. Both schools played their best, with some fantastic tries being scored at both ends. The final score came to Shanklea 5- 4 Hollywell and both teams received medals to commend their enthusiastic participation.

Congratulations to all involved in the project!
