Tynemouth Beach Festival continues countdown to Women’s Rugby World Cup
As the Official Community Engagement Programme Partners for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, Newcastle Rugby Foundation are hosting a summer series of beach rugby festivals across the North East coast. Next up in their announcement is Longsands Beach in Tynemouth, which will host the fourth beach event on Saturday July 26, between 11am and 2pm.
Inviting all ages, abilities and genders to the sand, this event is open to all and seeks to bring the community together with a free, fun-filled event designed to celebrate rugby and the spirit of summer.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or brand new to the game, there’s something for everyone. Teams of six are encouraged to register in advance, but individual entries are also welcome – the Foundation staff will help to match you up.
The day will welcome live entertainment, touch rugby games and a lively atmosphere that showcases the inclusive and energetic culture of rugby, perfect for a family day out of gathering your mates for a Saturday at the coast.
This is more than just a sporting event – it’s a celebration of what rugby can bring to communities: teamwork, resilience, friendship, and fun. As we look ahead to a landmark moment in women’s sport with the Rugby World Cup on home soil, the Tynemouth Beach Festival is the perfect way to connect people through the power of rugby.
