VIDEO: Olmstead looking to put pressure on Sarries

Canadian international Evan Olmstead says applying pressure is the key to sealing an early Christmas present with an Aviva Premiership Rugby win this afternoon.

The Falcons take on Saracens at Allianz Park at 13:30 this afternoon, with the lock stating that was a key factor in a youthful Falcons side matching the reigning Premiership and European Champions in the Anglo-Welsh Cup back in November.

Speaking to Falcons TV, Olmstead said: “They play a physical, straight up the guts style and we had success when we put them on the back foot. If you just let them run at you and soak tackles, it’s going to be a tough day.

“I guess what you take from that is you want to get out, you want to hit them and put pressure on. The best players in the world struggle under pressure so the name of the game is going to be if we front up physically, put some hits on and stop them from getting a rumble on, otherwise it is going to be tough.”

I’m really looking forward to it. Its going to be a great challenge with some notable players in the Saracens ranks, whatever team that they put out.
“It will be a tough game but that is what you play for, getting up for the challenge winning them.”
