Watch the Falcons take on Edinburgh this Friday
This Friday, 29th August, Newcastle Falcons take on RABO Pro 12 side Edinburgh Rugby in their final pre-season fixture of the summer.
For the second year running both teams will travel to Hawick RFC’s Mansfield Park for a fixture that will see the cross-border neighbours test their mettle against one another before getting into domestic league action the following weekend.
Both teams have a point to prove in the run up to the new season, with Edinburgh coming into the game fresh from a hard-fought battle with Leicester Tigers which saw them lose by one point following a dramatic late penalty kick from the Tigers.
Meanwhile the Falcons will be playing their first match since a split squad took played matches against both Rotherham Titans and Doncaster Knights at the same time last Saturday.
Having scored a total of eleven tries across three pre season games to date, the Aviva Premiership side will be looking to put into practice all they learned through August as the squad prepares for their 2014-15 Aviva Premiership season opener away to Leicester Tigers the following weekend.
Friday’s game against Edinburgh kicks off at 7.45pm at Hawick RFC’s Mansfield Park ground.
