Watson is part of the wider GB training squad ahead of final selection for rugby sevens’ Olympic debut – GB’s player group being split into two teams for the lead-up tournaments.

Watson’s Lions were beaten 17-10 by host nation Russia in the last four of the competition, taking third place after a 25-5 triumph over Germany in the play-off.

The remaining two stop-offs for Team GB’s two sides are Exeter (9-10 July) and Gdynia (16-17 July) before final selection for Rio.
