Whitehaven doing their bit for good causes

The Cumbrian club have collected over 16 tons of clothing, paid at £1 per kilo, in aid of the valuable Air Ambulance service, having organised drop-off days at the club.

Whitehaven have also been selling NHS-branded rugby kit to raise further funds, in conjunction with STAG, with every penny of the £3,500 profit going to related good causes.

A well-suppported food donation point at their clubhouse has helped stock local homeless shelters and food banks, while children and elderly residents have benefited from the many items donated to ‘boredom boxes’, which have been distributed around care homes and youth groups.

This work goes to illustrate how the rugby fraternity is more than doing its bit during these difficult times, with clubs throughout the Falcons’ patch showing themselves in a tremendous light.
