Wilson highlights team ethos after Sunday thriller
Trailing Northampton Saints by two tries inside 10 minutes they bounced back from a half-time deficit to run in five second-half tries on the way to a 46-31 triumph.
Scoring one of seven Falcons tries on the day, the Cumbrian war-horse said: “When you’ve got our whole backline, not just Niki (Goneva) and Sinoti (Sinoti) but people like Dom Waldouck, Taity (Alex Tait) who’s safe as houses and Tane , who’s playing really well, and a really exciting 10 in Joel (Hodgson), it’s a really exciting backline.
“Add the pack and some of the grunt we’ve got up top, it’s a really nice balance.”
Wilson, whose late try came via a driven maul, added: “The boys are delighted. If you’d asked us after 15 minutes if we’d have taken that, we’d have bitten your hand off!
“We started sloppily but the feeling amongst the camp was that there was never any panic, it was just let’s get the ball in our hands and we’ll start carving them open. Once we start doing what we practice, we started cutting them to shreds and we knew we would always outscore them.
“It’s testament to where we are now as a team and a club.”
