Newcastle Falcons can confirm that Chris York and Danny Barnes will leave the club at the end of the season after agreeing terms with newly promoted Green King IPA Championship side Ealing Trailfinders.

Back Row York, 25, joined the Falcons over the summer of 2012 from Harlequins and has gone on to make 34 appearances for the North East side, with his incisive running and excellent handling skills often making positive contributions to the Falcons performance.

Meanwhile Barnes, 25, joined the club from Munster in summer 2013, pulling on the Falcons shirt 18 times over the subsequent two seasons including a memorable performance at Northampton Saints earlier this season, when the Falcons gave the league leaders a through examination, ultimately earning a try scoring bonus point from a high scoring and entertaining match.

Speaking of the double move, Director of Rugby Dean Richards said: “We’re very grateful for the input both Chris and Danny have had in our squad over their time with the club.”

“Having just been promoted, I know that Ealing Trailfinders have big plans for the future that Chris and Danny will be able to play a role in helping them achieve and I wish both players all the best for their time there and beyond.”
